We're currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to work for a fast growing company in Leeds. This company is well known for the manufacturing of creative solutions for minimally invasive surgery.

The successful candidate will be working on various NPI and CI projects, you will work alongside various facets of the business and will be the direct link between management and engineering personnel. This is a new addition to the engineering team with a focus primary on project delivery, but teamed with general production engineering activities as and when required.

Key Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed project plans and reports for key activities on all existing and future projects
  • Arrange, manage and facilitate all stage gate reviews
  • Project management – Ensure NPI projects are transferred into manufacturing on time and to budget
  • Adhere to good documentation practice and actively contribute to maintaining all relevant Technical documentation
  • Liaise with all project stakeholders including external contractors for all verification and validation activities
  • Assisting production engineering with the implementation of new product/process transfer
  • Provide detailed plans and updates to senior management on all ongoing projects
  • Constantly review efficiency and/or cost saving opportunities
  • Support idea generation by defying new processes, problem resolution activities and technology introduction to improve both existing products and aid with new products

Candidate Requirements:

  • You will possess previous engineering experience either in a production or process engineering role with fast exposure to highly regulated industries such as medical, pharmaceutical or aerospace
  • The candidate must possess a relevant project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or PMP or can demonstrate suitability gained through industry
  • Must have a professional attitude and flexible approach to working. Be efficient with great attention to detail and commercial awareness of project deadlines
  • Ideally from a precision manufacturing background with experience of both Injection moulding and machining industries
  • You will be a self-motivated, self-starter that is able to work under your own initiative, whilst also working to tight deadlines
  • Formal continuous improvement qualification such as Green belt/Black belt or relevant experience/exposure within a continuous improvement environment would be highly desirable

Salary: Up to £30,000/ dependent on experience
